The Paramara Kings of Malwa are credited with constructing the temple in the eleventh century CE. The Chauhan emperors assumed control of the temple’s management following the Paramara monarchs. Beginning with Mahmud Ghazni, Muslim conquerors destroyed and looted the temple in the thirteenth century CE.
5. Kedarnath – Uttarakhand
Bounded by snow-capped peaks and forests Kedarnath is reached by a trek of 12 Km from Gauri Kund, situated in the Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,583 meters.
