1. Somnath – Gujarat

12 Jyotirlingas Tours starts with the Shree Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple.  Somnath Temple is majestically located near the town of Prabhas Patan, overlooking the Arabian Sea, perched on the western coast of Gujarat. Its backdrop of sandy beaches and the vast ocean adds to its allure. The temples lies at the meeting of Kapila, Hiran and Sarasvati rivers. Somnath is believed to be the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas known as the ‘Eternal Shrine’. Legend holds that it was originally built by the moon God, Somraj (Chandra) , in honor of Lord Shiva. Somnath temple has been rebuilt each time, despite enduring multiple invasions and destructions over the centuries thus symbolizing resilience and unwavering faith. This was last reconstructed in 1951. Its historical prominence and architectural grandeur make it a must-visit for pilgrims and tourists alike.

2. Mallikarjuna – Andhra Pradesh

Next Jyotirlinga visit is on the banks of the Krishna River is nestled in the Nallamala Hills, at a distance of around 220 kms from Hyderabad. The Swamy Mallikarjuna Temple at Srisailam is surrounded by dense forests, offering a tranquil setting amidst lush greenery. This Jyotirlinga is considered as the Kashi of the South, represents the unity of Lord Shiva and Parvati. Its origins trace back to ancient times, with mentions in epics like the Mahabharata. The gigantic fort like temple complex houses Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bharmaramba Devi as its main deities. It is believed that worshiping here grants both spiritual fulfilment and worldly happiness. Its geographical location amidst natural beauty adds to its mystique.

3. Mahakaleshwar – Madhya Pradesh

Mahakaleshwar is considers as the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva which is surrounded by a vibrant cultural landscape. Along the banks of the Kshipra River this Jyotirlinga is situated in the ancient town of Ujjain. Architected in Chalukya & Maratha styles, this magnificent temple houses the only south-facing Jyotirlinga, considered a Swayambhu (self-manifested) shrine. The idol of Mahakaleshwar is known to be dakshinamurthi, which means that it is facing the south,  it is associated with time (Kala) and offers liberation from the cycle of birth and death. 

4. Omkareshwar – Madhya Pradesh

Positioned on the Mandhata Island in the Narmada River at Khandwa district in Madhya Pradesh.  Omkareshwar is uniquely shaped like the sacred ‘Om’ symbol. It represents the divine sound ‘Om’ and symbolizes peace and unity. According to legend, Lord Shiva divided the ‘OM’ symbol to manifest as Omkareshwar and Amareshwar, making it a center for spiritual harmony. The Paramara Kings of Malwa are credited with constructing the temple in the eleventh century CE. The Chauhan emperors assumed control of the temple’s management following the Paramara monarchs. Beginning with Mahmud Ghazni, Muslim conquerors destroyed and looted the temple in the thirteenth century CE.

5. Kedarnath – Uttarakhand 

Bounded by snow-capped peaks and forests Kedarnath is reached  by a trek of 12 Km from Gauri Kund, situated  in the Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,583 meters. Amidst the Himalayas near the Mandakini river, Kedarnath is revered for its spiritual power and serenity.  The word Kedarnath derived  from the Sanskrit words kedara mean field and natha means lord combined to mean “the lord of the field”.  According to Ramayana epic the Pandavas  here sought Lord Shiva’s blessings to atone for their sins. 6. Bhimashankar – Maharashtra

Architected in the Nagara Style the temple composite of original and new structure dating back to 13 century and the sabhamandap is believed to be built in the 18 century by the Nana Phandavis. DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN DELHI

You will start your spiritual journey from Delhi and receive a warm welcome by L K Holidays   representative. This first day allows you to soak in the vibrant culture and history of India’s capital while preparing for the pilgrimage ahead. After settling into your hotel, you will spend the day exploring the bustling city and visiting iconic landmarks. DAY 2-3: SOMNATH, GUJARAT

Once you arrive at Ahmedabad our representative will greet you then we will start the scenic drive to Somnath. You will visit the iconic Somnath Temple, which stands proudly on the Arabian Sea's shores. Participate in the evening aarti and experience the tranquillity and spiritual fervour as you. DAY 4-5: DWARKA AND NAGESHWAR, GUJARAT
